THE DRAGON CITY FOR THE ADVENTUROUS AND SKILLED

It all started with a dragon. It was dwelling deep in the Košuta Mountain. When it grew into an enormous predator, the mountain split in two. This caused a loud rockslide that buried the settlement under the mountain. To escape, the residents ran into the valley. Once out of breath, they finally stopped. The town of Tržič was created on that same spot.

TRŽIČ MUSEUM

At the museum, you can learn about the history of Tržič. Here, the craft of the industrious residents of Tržič was strongly developed, and they were known as skilled and enterprising artisans in shoemaking, leather production, fabric dyeing, and the creation of the famous cherry socks from Tržič. The tradition of skiing also has its place here, and you can read more about it in the museum.
